Specifically Designed For women wanting to learn photography with ease, exploring beautiful places, and feeling supported every step of the way.
That's why we run this Photography Workshop in the beautiful landscape of New Zealand's South Island.
Learning in a competitive or intimidating environment.
Talking Jargon or Techy that no-one really understands.
Having the fanciest camera.
This workshop is about learning photography in a simple, supportive, gear-friendly environment where you can relax, enjoy stunning locations, and grow your skills with confidence alongside like minded women!

This is our most popular workshop and promises a captivating blend of photography tuition with perfect landscapes.
This workshop is tailored for YOU! All you need to think about is learning, and taking great photos in this beautiful landscape.
We'll start and finish in Queenstown and then make our way to the South Island's finest locations including: Lake Tekapo, Mt Cook, Wanaka, Arrowtown, Glenorchy.
You may start a beginner at photography or already have skills, but after 6 days you will finish with photography skills that would normally take months to learn.
Why join us on this photography workshop?
✅ Created and run by Women for Women!
✅ The only thing you will need to think about is which lens to use
for the next amazing vista, but of course Derry will be guiding
you every step of the way.
✅ You will learn how to 'see' a landscape, visualise the photo,
which lens to use and what settings you'll need to get the
photo you see.
✅ This workshop is about you, your passion, and your
photography!

I can't thank you both enough for the time, effort and thoughtfulness it would have taken you both to create the workshop. It was a wonderful experience, made all the better by the beautiful scenery and the amazing company. Caro - thank you for making sure everyone was comfortable, safe and well fed. Derry - thank you for your expertise, kind encouragement and fellow Gemini energy 😎 I really enjoyed my chats with you both, and the stories and laughs shared.

Remember: I’m on this journey with you each step of the way and here’s what we’re going to do together ...

DAY ONE
Queenstown to Tekapo
Starting at Queenstown we head up to Lake Tekapo, of course starting with a cuppa to get to know each other.
Fear not, we don't believe in spending hour upon hour confined in the bus, you can be sure that we'll be stopping along the way so that you get the opportunity to enjoy the scenery along the way - Lindis Pass viewpoint
Lake Tekapo - Church of the Good Shepherd
⭐️ Sunset at Good Shepherd Church on the
banks of Lake Tekapo.
⭐️ Night shoot at Good Shepherd Church.
⭐️ Sunrise at Good Shepherd Church.
I know that's a lot of the Good Shepherd Church, but the location and surrounds are amazing and we want to capture it in the best light we can.

DAY TWO
Tekapo / Mt Cook
We'll start the day with a Sunrise shoot overlooking the lake.
As we leave Tekapo well stop off at the Mount John Observatory for the breath taking views across Lake Tekapo and the village.
We make our way through the Hooker Valley as we head to Aoraki (Mt Cook) for an overnight stay.
Blue Lakes Glacier Walk - looking over the Tasman Glacier
⭐️ Mt Cook is incredible, with weather and light
continually changing

DAY THREE
Mt Cook / Wanaka
Before we leave Mt Cook we'll enjoy the 'Glacier Explorer' cruise before jumping back on the bus to head to Wanaka.
First stop will be a sunset photo of 'that tree', the Wanaka Tree, 'the lone tree', called a few names but is one lone tree sitting in the water just off the bank of Lake Wanaka.
It's a bit of an instagram celebrity and a must stop photo destination.

DAY FOUR
Wanaka / Queenstown
After a sunrise at Lake Wanaka we make our way back to Queenstown.
Stopping at Kawarau Bridge - where you'll learn how to photograph ACTION, of those brave people who like to jump off a bridge held just by elastic bands!
Lock down continuous focus, continuous drive as we watch the Bungy Jumping - not included, but we're happy to watch you ... and video and photograph you!
Then to the most amazing 'Autumn' coloured village of Arrowtown.
We explore the old Chinese gold mining settlement, photograph the Autumn trees and this historic village - a jewel in the South Island crown.
Then a short trip back to Queenstown for our last 2 nights.
Tonight we'll take the Skyline Gondola up Bob's Peak for a Sunset shoot over the beautiful Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu.

DAY FIVE
Queenstown & Surrounds
Moke Lake / Glenorchy
Today we soak up the beauty of Queenstown, beginning with a peaceful morning at Moke Lake.
After breakfast, we head to Glenorchy for more breathtaking scenery.
And finishing of the day / evening with street photography in the 'bustling' Queenstown.

DAY SIX
Farm Visit / Lake Cruise
This may be our final day, but it's still a full day, we don't advertise 6 days and just have a couple hours in the morning with you.
Today we'll board the TSS Earnslaw steam boat and cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak Homestead.
Once here we'll enjoy a Gourmet BBQ Lunch, followed by a Sheep Dog demonstration before we jump back on the TSS to head back to Queenstown for farewell drink before we say our fond farewells!

So My Friend… Are you ready travel with us to take great photos?

The New Zealand South Island photography workshop was a truly unforgettable experience. Derry's exceptional teaching style made complex photogrpahy formulas incredibly easy to comprehend, and being part of a small, supportive group of like-minded women was incredibly empowering.
The breathtaking locations we visited were simply stunning.
Natasha

Derry was an incredible teacher, giving of her time and knowledge with patience, kindness and warmth. The way Derry teaches truly shows how passionate she is for photography and in wanting others to share her passion. Having Derry by our side meant I was able to see these places not just as a traveller, but as a photographer.
Glenda

Does travelling halfway across the world to expose your lack of skill in photography to people you have never met scare you? Relax - you will be drawn into the warm and kind world of Derry’s photography instruction with a small group of women who feel like friends. This is absolutely the workshop for you if you are open to adventure (with a nice soft bed and cuppa hot chocolate, thanks Caro!) and expanding your photography skills in a beautiful place.
